I know how devastating it is to watch your once vibrant child caught in the grips of anorexia. Words can’t describe how shocking it is to go from a mom proudly watching her ballerina on stage to a mom anxiously wondering if her daughter will ever dance again.
I remember thinking that if I could just find her the right treatment, that she would be fine. Instead, the search for effective treatment left me feeling overwhelmed, confused, and fearful that her health would continue to deteriorate.
My “aha” moment came when I realized that I could apply the tools I learned to become a certified life coach to manage what I was thinking and feeling about my daughter’s illness. That’s when everything changed. That’s when I stopped allowing my daughter’s anorexia to keep me from being the mom I wanted to be.
The hardest thing I’ve ever gone through is now the experience that makes me the proudest–my family’s journey from my daughter’s anorexia diagnosis to now. The life-changing tools I learned as a life coach empowered me to take charge of my daughter’s recovery. Without them, I know I would have stayed in fear, and felt like there was nothing I could do to help her. That is why I am so compelled to share those tools with you.
